The Final Assessment of the OUTGENIA Awards, organized by FIAB and the Food for Life-Spain platform, brought together international startups to spotlight breakthrough innovations in the agri-food sector. Modelled after Spain’s successful INGENIA program, this global edition focuses on fostering cross-border collaboration and entrepreneurship.
Startups from different countries took part in the competition, presenting their solutions in different key categories shaping the future of food. Among the categories, the jury evaluated startups focused on:
- Sustainability — addressing climate impact, energy efficiency, and responsible resource use,
- Packaging — advancing eco-friendly materials and circular design strategies,
- Food Waste — offering new tools and processes to minimize waste across the food chain.
Each participating company delivered an elevator pitch to a jury composed of Spanish investors, business leaders, technology centers, and public sector representatives such as the Spanish Ministry of Food and Agriculture. The panel assessed the projects on their originality, scalability, and contribution to building a more sustainable global food system.
