Reducing food loss and waste is a challenge that needs to be addressed. According to that, the Valencian World Sustainable Urban Food Centre (CEMAS), in collaboration with the European Food Information Council (EUFIC), hosted a High-level event “ A multi-stakeholder perspective on food loss and food waste reduction strategies” on October 3rd in Valencia.
The CHORIZO project had the opportunity to be part of this event at different levels. The event’s structure includes morning panel debates and speeches, and afternoon sessions with sector-specific discussions. Our partners from ICLEI were part of the panel about “City Networks and their key role tackling food loss and waste”, focused on global, national, and local perspectives. The afternoon sectorial sessions consisted on small discussion groups (10-20 people) focusing on different links of the food chain, and our partners from FIAB had the chance to discuss and present the first results about the In-depth interviews carried out in the frame of CHORIZO project in the Food Industry discussion group.
